Lead Tailor

We are seeking an experienced tailor for freelance projects including recycling, patchwork, fatigue and basic product alterations, hat trimmings, mask, tshirt, tote bags making, and various sewing projects.

Must be well versed in different machines and previous experience in a clothing line is preferred. Industrial sewing machines, knowledge of fabrics, and trimmings of all kinds.  Also, be highly organized, be on time and deliver a clean product. The ideal candidate complements and supports our enthusiastic, supportive, positive environment, and exceptional customer service based culture.  As a member of the creative team, you must be ready and willing to take on a wide variety of projects and back up other team members, as needed. This position will report to the Design Manager and the CEO. 

Essential Functions:

  • Sewing patches, clothing, mask, hats, bags and more

  • Creating daily custom request per hour (see expectation chart) from Design Manager and/or CEO

  • Process online and instore sew requests based on current day turn around time

  • Sew mixed threads created by Lead Designer

  • Inspecting, measuring, and cutting fabric

  • Ironing, folding, packaging finished products

  • Basic sewing machine use

  • Working with others to create a finished product

  • Planning and cutting fabric

  • Clean all work stations and adhere to all safety precautions in workplace 

  • Sewing buttons and other items on to garments

  • Help with design suggestions and assist with training new seamstress as support to management 

  • Alterations as needed approved by Design Manager or CEO

  • Perform design consultations with customers and complete sale at the checkout counter

  • Open and close register for the workday and report all drops to Design Manager

  • Store Key Holder with open and close responsibilities

  • Greet all customers and handle any walk in or phone inquiries

  • Fulfill all online orders with sew options as a priority directly to ensure sales quotas are met

  • Report all inventory shortages and patch requests to Design Manager

  • Delegate off site sews to contractors per job and request direct invoices sent to CEO

  • Direct clothing sales with customers, put up inventory and reports directly to Design Manager

Position Requirements:

  • Hand sewing skills, including embroidery, buttons, etc.

  • Must have the ability to operate industrial sewing machines

  • Extensive experience with all types of fabrics

  • Have an artist creative personality

  • Minimum of 2 years of seamstress experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
