Design Manager

We are looking for a skilled Design Manager to undertake a variety of day-to-day office and fashion design tasks and some light accounting and human resource work. You will be an integral part in ensuring that our store operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities. An excellent design manager is, above all, an organized and competent professional with phenomenal communication skills. You will be comfortable dealing with people and able to carry out delegating and design duties with accuracy and speed. The goal is to ensure that store operations are efficient and add maximum value to the organization. You are needed to communicate with local Clients & Vendors.  A creative background is a plus to help with design ideas. The Design manager reports directly to the CEO of The Woke Brand.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain all accounts receivable and deposit daily sales from cash and credit cards transactions.

  • Maintain exclusive customer files and reporting

  • Order standard inventory, delegate inventory tasks while maintaining merchandise pricing and displays

  • Convey when patch and designer pick inventory items are low and needs restock

  • Build and maintain team motivation and reward incentives to boost team morale

  • Delegate breaks, employee point systems and create and cover  all employee schedules. 

  • Coordinate and track employee training to ensure that all employees receive orientation and on-going training

  • Organize and manage advertising campaigns, deals and promos online directly with Website Manager

  • Maintain confidentiality of information received regarding the employees, contractors, vendors, and clients

  • Interview, hire, train and terminate employees, contractors, or vendors throughout the year in support of CEO

  • Handle any reporting or research needed for the company's ongoing success

  • Navigate marketing sales generated from CEO in store and online with Website Manager

  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the absences and presence of the CEO to the entire team on and off site.

  • Attend special events and serve as a direct leader of The Woke Brand and help clients as needed

  • Maintain great customer service and are aware of current fashion trends

  • Adhere to company policies and regulations as well as report any suspicious activities like shoplifting and belligerent customers to mall security.

  • Responsible for customer retention through mediums the CEO provides

  • Handle all customer complaints or shopping experiences escalated to manager on duty

  • Perform design layouts, make fashion suggestions and customize clothing directly under CEO's request

  • Key holder with open and close responsibilities

Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in store management, cash and credit card management, or other similar position preferred

  • Prior Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Employee Scheduling experience preferred

  • Self-motivated, organized, and professional. Have a neat, professional, courteous manner and appearance

  •  Possess good public relations, communication, general office, clerical and telephone skills

  • Must have in store administrative management and supervisory skills

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and have excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with different levels of personnel

  • Must be willing to work a minimum of 35 hours per week

  • Dedicated, private home workspace free of distractions and interruptions

  • Established home internet connectivity; minimum internet download speed of 15 Mbps | upload speed of 10 Mbps

  • Understand your network environment at home

  • Ability to troubleshoot their own devices & connectivity

  • Working from home is rare for this position but needs to be available as needed
